Amid the rapid turnover of AI-era educational technology, frontline teachers often face a dilemma: too many tools, too little integration, and a steep learning curve, while control over digital teaching remains in the hands of commercial platforms. This practice-based session shares how one elementary school teacher transformed from a "user" of educational technology into a "maker" of it. With no background in software engineering, the teacher used AI-assisted development—conversationally writing code with large language models, commonly known as "vibe coding"—to personally design and build the "EdTech Innovation Hub," a one-stop platform integrating more than 90 free educational tools.

Built with modern web technologies such as React and TypeScript, the platform spans seven categories: communication, teaching, language, reading, utilities, games, and interactive platforms. Every tool is free, ad-free, and registration-free, with responsive design and installable mobile support, allowing teachers to share tools with students in one click via a link or QR code. Representative tools include an AI lesson-planning assistant, a PIRLS reading-comprehension generator, a real-time student voting system, an AI curriculum-review tool, and a student-comment optimizer—all already in use for classroom instruction and school administration.

This session presents the platform's origin, the workflow and mindset of AI-assisted development, the pedagogical applications of all seven tool categories, and reflections on its promotion and impact. Through this authentic "teacher-as-maker" case, it argues that in the AI era teachers need not remain passive tool users; with AI's help they can become creators who solve their own teaching pain points, returning control of educational technology to the frontline—the most concrete embodiment of teacher empowerment. The platform's source code is fully open-sourced for other teachers to reference, modify, and reuse.
