Deployed via Google Apps Script and Claude (Anthropic) at no cost, the tool centers on three pivotal events in Qing-dynasty Taiwan \u2014 the Mudan Incident, the Sino-French War, and the Mountain Forest Conflicts \u2014 structured as a three-stage sequential narrative. Key features include a first-person dialogue system embodying six historical figures (e.g., Shen Baozhen, the Paiwan chief of Mudan, Liu Mingchuan), real-time AI keyword-based scoring, and a one-click grade submission mechanism. The tool was piloted with 42 students across three fifth-grade classes at an elementary school in New Taipei City. Quantitative results indicated a mean total score of 79.5 out of 100, a completion rate of 100%, and a passing rate of 88.1%. Qualitative findings revealed meaningful development of historical empathy and higher-order historical thinking beyond rote memorization.
